Getting a message at 2am in this morning to get myself down to Deansgate as soon as humanly possible is not the way to start an explore, well it kind of was in this instance. With word that it was now or never as a certain access was wide open for all to see, I found myself at the mercy of Greater Manchester Public Transport, sharing my company with drunks and pre-drinking students.

Unable to reach anyone to them already making their descent, I hastily walked past a GMP van and its 2 accompanying officers, took a breath and took the plunge, step after step for which seemed like it would never end. Disappearing into darkness, not for one second did I feel at ease due to access and exit being at the mercy of luck that someone did not come across a certain hole in the ground that was certainly not meant to open.

I had no idea to what size the place was, I followed the painted directions from another era, leading me to the others who were just finishing up. With this in mind, I took no time in getting set up and doing what I came to do and with one or two scares near the end, we were home free.

This explore consisted of 2 visits within the same day with a short interval at the McDonalds across the road. A few scares were involved such as Appo doing the long jump between the ceilings of windows. Have to say that this was a pretty awesome rooftop with a wide choice of shots to take from all directions.

Visited with NickUK, Gone, Appo and Rookie. I have been wanting to visit this place for a month or two now so I was pretty happy when the opportunity arose. This station is magnificant, all the tracks have been removed yet with the end of the tracks still present, this has to be one of my favourite urbex's to date.

Mayfield Station is a disused train station in central Manchester, it lies right alongside Piccadilly station and was opened at the turn of the 20th century to provide extra capacity at what was then London Road station. Now it lays decaying but with some good features still visible.

Visited for the first time during the night with Nckt, Rookie, Appo, Morse and Dan Helsing. Visited the next day on a second explore, this time in the day with Gone, Rookie and Appo.

This place had a fantastic view of the Manchester skyline, with the Granada building, the Hilton hotel as well as numerous other brightly lit rooftops. Testing out my new Fujifilm bridge, I had the chance to try out some night shots my compact was unable to do and to also experiment with the camera during the second visit in the day.

























On a side note, clothes were lost in the name of photography and Urban Exploration.

After our little trip to Oldham, we decided to have a little wander around the City Centre before calling it a day. Thankfully we did as we came across this beauty. Once a market turned skatepark, this building displayed graffiti like I have never witnessed, mind blowing.









Not many shots could be taken due to my lack of battery power from taking photographs earlier in the day.

Hit these two rooftops with Gone on a decent sunny day, perfect weather for the little compact I had to make use of at the time. With night shots turning out useless from previous urbex's I was amazed with the quality I managed to produce.

Both rooftops were pretty chilled so all in all was a nice little explore.
